EN We are interested in suggesting a way to occupy the territory. The definition of an implementation system that allows effective adaptation to the needs of living in this Place.

This gesture will constitute the first act of a narrative of changes and consequences that multiply, with affects on the various spheres of the habitat, caused primarily by the construction of a shelter, and secondarily, by man’s habitation.

We understand that it is our task to define and control the first act, of construction in a place (and not of a place), and that from that moment on we will be able to condition and model human behavior or appropriation – the natural development of subsequent acts.

It is then important for us to establish a matrix of territorial appropriation, an initial rule that defends the safeguarding of natural heritage. Therefore, we propose to think about structuring a physical system that is compatible with the environment, through its sensitive presence, while fulfilling the function of housing an inhabitant, through its utilitarian configuration.

The act of occupying a natural space imposes the impression of an inevitable mark on the territory. The expression of this brand is intended to be somewhat ambiguous; Contained, but exacerbated. Affirmative, but contextualized.

We decided on a Tower. A unitary object, with reduced contact on the ground and with a vast reach across the landscape. A marking of multiple potentials at the level of functions, experiences and materializations.

This strategy is based on a series of references that intersect in the construction of a holistic proposal for design and reflection on the program and the Place.

Based on History, in the search for creating points of contact that are also symbolic of possession, domination and control of a territory. We intend to give this Tower an abstract and at the same time timeless presence, a contemplative use, but also full of functionality, using local materiality constructed in a rational way, but with the poetic perspective of building a distant future full of uncertainty.

PT Interessa-nos a sugestão de um modo de ocupar o território. A definição de um sistema de implantação que permita uma adaptação efetiva às necessidades do habitar neste Lugar.

Este gesto constituirá o primeiro ato de uma narrativa de alterações e consequências que se multiplicam, com afetações nas várias esferas do habitat, causadas primeiramente pela construção de um abrigo, e secundariamente, pelo habitar do homem.

Compreendemos que nos cabe a tarefa de definir e controlar o primeiro ato, da construção em um lugar (e não de um lugar), e que a partir desse momento poderemos condicionar e modelar o comportamento ou apropriação humanos – o natural desenvolvimento dos atos seguintes.

Importa-nos então o estabelecimento de uma matriz de apropriação territorial, uma regra inicial que defenda a salvaguarda do pat­rimónio natural. Assim, propomo-nos a pensar na estruturação de um sistema físico que se compatibilize com o meio, através da sua presença sensível, enquanto cumpre a função de abrigar um habitante, através da sua configuração utilitária.

O ato de ocupar um espaço natural impõe a impressão de uma marca, inevitável, no território. A expressão dessa marca pretende-se algo ambígua; Contida, mas exacerbada. Afirmativa, mas contextualizada.

Decidimo-nos por uma Torre. Um objeto unitário, de toque reduzido no terreno e com um alcance vasto na paisagem. Uma marcação de potenciais múltiplos ao nível das funções, vivências e materializações.

Esta estratégia funda-se numa série de referentes que se cruzam na construção de uma proposta holística de desenho e reflexão sobre o programa e o Lugar.

Assente na História, na procura de criação pontos de contacto de um carácter também simbólico de posse, domínio e controle de um território. Pretendemos atribuir a esta Torre uma presença abstrata e ao mesmo tempo intemporal, um uso contemplativo, mas também pleno de funcionalidade, recorrendo à materialidade local construída de forma racional, mas com a perspetiva poética de construção de um futuro distante e pleno de indefinição.
